By downloading, installing, or using Glint or any other software provided by Hotaru (collectively, the "Software") or by visiting our website (hotaru.fyi), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Grant of License: Hotaru grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use the Software on devices you own or control, strictly for personal or internal business purposes.
Restrictions: You may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, or redistribute the Software.
Hotaru uses third-party services for payment processing to ensure your financial security. We do not store or collect your payment card details. Depending on where you purchased the Software, different terms and payment processors apply:
Our order process for direct purchases is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders.
Transactions: Paddle handles the checkout, taxes, and initial customer billing inquiries. Their Terms and Conditions apply to these transactions.
If you download or purchase the Software through the Apple App Store, the following terms apply:
Apple's Terms: Your purchase is subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) and the App Store Terms of Service.
Payments & Refunds: All billing, subscriptions, and refunds for App Store purchases are managed exclusively by Apple. Hotaru does not have the ability to process refunds for App Store transactions. You must request refunds directly through your Apple ID account.
Family Sharing: If applicable, subscriptions and purchases may be shared with family members according to Apple's Family Sharing rules.
Your use of the Software is also governed by our Privacy Policy. As a privacy-focused company, we process your data (such as search indexes and file metadata) locally on your device. We do not have access to your private files or search history.
All titles, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to the Software (including but not limited to any images, icons, and text incorporated into the Software) are owned by Hotaru. The Software is protected by copyright laws and international treaty provisions.
The Software is provided "AS IS," without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hotaru disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the Software will be error-free or that its operation will be uninterrupted.
In no event shall Hotaru be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use the Software.
Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice from Hotaru if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this agreement. Upon termination, you shall cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
